Lile R. Gibbons

Lile R. Gibbons is the granddaughter of Rasmuson Foundation founder Jenny Rasmuson, and has served on the Foundation Board since 1997. She also is a trustee of the John A. Hartford Foundation in New York City. Ms. Gibbons retired in 2013 from the Connecticut State Legislature where she served for 12 years in the House of Representatives, representing the 150th District in Greenwich.

Ms. Gibbons has served on numerous nonprofit boards both local and statewide including the Greenwich Board of Education. In July 2020, she joined the board of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She is a 1964 Smith graduate.

Ms. Gibbons grew up in Anchorage, attended West High School and graduated from Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. She and her husband, John A. Gibbons, Jr. have been married for 53 years. They have four married children and 13 grandchildren. Ms. Gibbons and her husband reside in Greenwich, Connecticut, but make numerous trips to Alaska throughout the year.
