Our Board
The Foundation’s board of directors includes Rasmuson family members and board-elected community directors, who share voices and perspectives from around Alaska. These leaders bring experience and expertise in investments, health care, public policy, business, economics, education, fisheries, conservation, natural resources, Alaska Native culture, and more.
Twice a year, the board gathers to consider grants, initiatives, and programs that support Alaska nonprofits, tribes, and local governments, but their impact on the Foundation and across communities is much greater. Each month, board directors connect over committee work, which may include discussions of grantmaking, investments, and governance. Additionally, board directors join Foundation staff members on community tours, at convenings, and other learning opportunities.
Our board continues the work of our founders, who envisioned an Alaska where people, cultures, and communities are thriving.
Beyond Grantmaking
As a community-led Foundation, board directors join Community Conversation tours to meet with other community leaders, learn about efforts happening across regions, and hear community-driven solutions. Twice a year, our board meetings begin with a day of learning, with directors attending site visits with grant partners.
