Brad Hughes

Brad Hughes has lived and worked in Haines, Alaska for more than 35 years. Hughes is self-educated in the basics of drawing, color and design and expresses himself in paintings, pastels, drawings, prints and sculpture. He started out in the early 1970s doing signs and graphic art. He was also the official artist for the Alaska State Fair posters for several years. Hughes has also been involved in designing and painting theater sets for more than 40 shows around Alaska. While oil painting is his favored medium, in 2004 Hughes began to discover the wonderful possibilities in Giclee. He operates and teaches at the Compass School of Fine Arts in Haines.
