Jon Van Zyle

Jon Van Zyle has dedicated himself to art during his 30 years plus in Alaska. Van Zyle has twice completed the 1049 miles of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race between Anchorage and Nome. From these adventures he has created the yearly Iditarod posters series commemorating the race and his involvement every year. In 1979 he was given the title of Iditarod Artist. His acrylic paintings tell the story of the race as well as capture Alaska’s beauty. Van Zyle was inducted into the Iditarod Hall of Fame in 2004. He makes his home in Eagle River, Alaska.
