A corner of Anchorage that has long offered shelter and meals for those experiencing homelessness has transformed into the place for individuals to move forward.
At the new 3rd Avenue Resource & Navigation Center, natural light and inviting sitting areas give a coffee house vibe. Partner agencies ready to help rotate in. Someone coming off the streets can take steps toward recovery, get a ride to the DMV for a new ID, or connect to benefits.
They can find housing, too. The 3rd Ave. center, our partnership with Weidner Apartment Homes and operator Catholic Social Services, offers a bright path. The $1.88 million Foundation grant covers first-year operations.
