OUR 2024 ANNUAL LETTER TO ALASKA
April 2025
Hello Alaska,
Each year, we share our annual letter as a reflection on the people, places, and projects that shape our work across Alaska. In 2024, Rasmuson Foundation invested $22.7 million in communities statewide. From a new delivery vehicle for Meals on Wheels for Sterling area seniors, to expanded permanent housing units for Juneau’s Forget-Me-Not Manor, we were honored to be a part of community-led work in more than 55 Alaska communities in 2024.
Last year, we also had the chance to formalize the values that have long guided our work. What emerged was a renewed commitment to what matters most: strong communities, local leadership, and flexible, responsive support.
OUR VALUES:
Celebration. We elevate our partners and their work.
Collaboration. We believe in Alaskans, listening and learning from their ideas.
Community. We embrace Alaska’s diversity and Indigenous cultures.
Innovation. We support bold ideas and bold leaders.
Respect. We build relationships with Alaskans beyond grantmaking.
Responsibility. We ensure Jenny, Elmer and Ed’s legacy lives on to serve Alaskans.
Partnership. We work alongside Alaskans with kindness and grace.
Looking ahead, 2025 marks a milestone: 70 years of the Foundation working alongside Alaskans. We enter this anniversary year with gratitude and a clear-eyed commitment to the road ahead. In a time of shifting landscapes and evolving needs, we know our role is to meet the moment. We remain steady in our dedication to our grantmaking partners — ready for the next 70 years and beyond.
