Hello Friends,

As we approach Philanthropy Day, I find myself reflecting on the incredible work each of our partners does in communities across Alaska. This is a time for us to celebrate the power of giving, the strength of our partnerships, and the remarkable impact our shared missions have on countless lives. Rasmuson Foundation is honored to be part of your stories, and we’re continually inspired by the creative ways you put grants to work to drive change and serve Alaskans.

Our team at the Foundation treasures the notes we receive from our partners, whether it’s through a handwritten card, a quick email, or a collection of snapshots that express the joy a project has brought to a community. These simple, heartfelt updates are, for us, a true “love language.” We’re delighted when our partners tell us how a grant has been put to use. These gestures may seem small, but they’re incredibly powerful in connecting us to the work on a deeper, more personal level.

We post them on our office fridge, talk about them in our online chat feeds, and share them with board members. Without a doubt, notes from you are our absolute favorite way to be celebrated.

That said, we know there are times when a bigger platform can help shine a light on your efforts, and we encourage you to reach out whenever our name might lend support to your own communications. We love to have the opportunity to see your work in action, tour your facilities, and attend events with you. We encourage our partners to discuss ways to elevate their impact with their program officers.

We are cheering our partners on, grateful for your stories, and celebrating your achievements every day.

Warmly,

Gretchen Guess
