Anchorage – Rasmuson Foundation welcomes Linda Leary of Anchorage to its Board of Directors. Leary has served on a committee of the Rasmuson board since 2009.

Leary is president and co-owner of Carlile Transportation Systems, Alaska’s largest asset-based trucking and logistic company. She has been actively involved with Carlile for 25 years and previously held the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing. As president, Leary oversees 625 employees and ten terminals in the United States and Canada.

After receiving her degree from the University of Maine at Orno, Leary came to Alaska in 1982. She has since earned her master’s in logistics management from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She also serves as chair of the Alaska Railroad Corporation and as a director of Breast Cancer Focus.

Sammye Pokryfki has been promoted to senior program officer. Pokryfki, who joined the staff in 2005 as a program officer, manages the Foundation’s Sabbatical Program, which has awarded 41 nonprofits funding to allow their leaders essential, extended leave. She is also in a leadership role for the Foundation’s Pre-Development program, Recover Alaska initiative, and the Community Asset Building Initiative.

In December, Pokryfki was elected to the board of directors of Philanthropy Northwest, the regional association of Grantmakers serving Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Alaska.

Aleesha Towns-Bain was promoted to senior program associate. While she is currently on loan as interim executive director at the Alaska Children’s Trust, she will return full-time to Rasmuson Foundation early this year. Upon her return, she will manage the Tier I program.
