Dear colleagues,
The tradition of helping each other makes Alaska a special place to live. Rasmuson Foundation is excited to announce a new executive leadership structure that will help us better serve Alaskans, now and in the future. Starting in January, we will pause our grantmaking to focus on reconnecting with our partners and each other. We are evaluating what is working best and how we can make changes to meet the needs of Alaskans.
Rasmuson Foundation is excited to announce three internal promotions, forming a new executive team. They will be working to forecast future needs, cultivate meaningful relationships and reinforce our commitment to you, our grantees and potential grantees. These leaders have a long history in Alaska and will bring their unique talents to further our mission.
We are proud to introduce our executive team:
- Chris Perez, vice president of programs, will focus on core grantmaking. He oversees Tier 1, Tier 2, Individual Artists Awards, Sabbatical and Program Related Investments.
- Bob Doehl, vice president of operations, will focus on keeping the Foundation running effectively and efficiently. He oversees finance, human resources, information technology and project management.
- Tasha Pineda, vice president of strategy, will focus on the current and future pulse of Alaska. She oversees initiatives, pro-active grantmaking, partnerships and communications.
As we make these changes, we reflect on the recent words of our board Chair Adam Gibbons (nephew of our late Chairman Emeritus Ed Rasmuson): “We need to think about what the future of Alaska looks like, envision it. So that we can be ready to have the greatest impact that our grantmaking can have.”
We are looking forward to 2024 and working alongside the people and communities that make Alaska the great place we call home. We will continue to keep you updated on our grantmaking and important dates for programs to start taking new applications.
Thank you for sharing our commitment to improving the lives of all Alaskans.
Gratefully,

Gretchen Guess
Rasmuson Foundation president and CEO
