Hello, Alaska.
As I share our 2025 annual letter with you, Rasmuson Foundation has more than a single year to look back on. Last year marked 70 years of empowering Alaskans to help each other — a mission that began with Jenny Rasmuson’s $3,000 donation and a $125 grant to a church for a motion picture projector. In 70 years, the Foundation has awarded more than $570 million in grants across Alaska.
Jenny made that first $125 gift because she heard about a need from her community. Today, we continue to honor that tradition of being guided by the people closest to their communities, as we invest in opportunities to empower Alaskans helping Alaskans.
In 2025, the Foundation invested $24.4 million in grants for community-led projects across the state, from an inclusive indoor playground in Anchorage to a kelp processing facility in Kodiak, to community health centers in Unalaska and Bethel.
The year also provided us ample opportunity to meet the moment, as we focused our efforts on the concerns of Alaskans, supporting public media, communities affected by Typhoon Halong, and families facing food insecurity.
In honoring our 70th anniversary, we also took time to celebrate the partners and communities that make our work possible. As we close out our 70th year, we turn our focus to the future — another 70 years of investing in Alaskans.
Thank you for all you do,

Gretchen Guess
