Rasmuson Foundation staff gathers on March 8 in the office and virtually. Our new President and CEO Gretchen Guess is on the right, standing.
By the Rasmuson Foundation Board
We are delighted to welcome Gretchen Guess, the Foundation’s new president and CEO, home to Alaska. Her first day on the job was last Tuesday, Feb 28, and she’s settling in fast.
Our board’s months-long, nationwide search led us to Gretchen for a number of reasons — her leadership skills, her public service, her deep knowledge of Alaska. She just belongs here. She grew up on Anchorage’s east side, gave back as an Anchorage School Board member and State of Alaska legislator, and spent 15 years in health care management including six years in planning and development with Providence Alaska.
For her first few weeks, she will get to know her new staff and the Foundation. Soon she will connect — or reconnect — with many of you. Starting this spring, she will begin a listening tour of Alaska. In the meantime, feel free to reach out through president@rasmuson.org.

Stay tuned for more information. And be sure to look for Gretchen on hiking trails, the pickleball court or when she’s walking her beloved basset hounds.
Alaska has always been Gretchen’s home, and we are thrilled to have her back.
