Carmen Goodwin joined the Foundation in January 2009, bringing extensive experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and benefits through her prior work with Latash Investments, Cook Inlet Tribal Council and Hawaiian Vacations. She became manager of accounting and risk management in May 2023 and later was promoted to senior accountant, contract and risk management. As of November 2024, Carmen is the Director of Talent Management.

She holds professional certification from the Society for Human Resource Management as well as a certificate in nonprofit management. She also is a notary. She is responsible for accounting, payroll, worker’s compensation and specialized insurance policies.

Originally born in Mexico and raised six years in California, Carmen has called Alaska her home most of her life. It is where she met her husband and raised her son. She enjoys hiking, fishing, and exploring the beauty this state has to offer.
