Cori Giacomazzi

Cori Giacomazzi graduated with a BS in Human Ecology, majoring in Textiles, Clothing and Culture. She began building corsets in 1993 and started participating in wearable art fashion shows in 1995. Giacomazzi moved to Skagway in 2000 and started making even more corsets – some for costumes, some for fun – and some for wearable art. In 2001, she brought the first corset show to a local café for two nights of fun and decadence. The show was such a hit that every two years, she needed a bigger space to exhibit the show which involved the performance of vignettes and audience participation. She has also participated in the Alaska Fiber Festival in 2003 and 2005 and the Juneau Wearable Arts Festival in 2007. “Look into my eyes” has been a show stopping corset every time it is shown.
