About the artist
Erica Miller was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. In 1990, she received her BFA from the State University of New York. During the summer she works in road construction while her winter months are spent painting. Miller’s medium of choice is pastel on paper and her favorite subject is the human face. She also enjoys painting animals and landscapes. Miller’s work is held in collections at the Anchorage Museum and the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C. She makes her home in Hope, Alaska.
2022 Project Award
Miller will replace the roof on her 50-year-old painting studio. The new cathedral ceiling will allow Miller to paint on a larger scale and will protect her materials and artwork. Miller will be able to use the expanded space for workshops and private lessons.
