Felix Walker, Jr. lives a subsistence lifestyle and the production and sale of carvings is his only source of income. He will winterize his workshop so he can make work year-round. He will replace flooring that was damaged by flooding, insulate the walls and roof to maximize the efficiency of his stove in winter, and purchase power tools in need of updating.

When asked what he would like the public to know, Walker responded, “I really want to encourage the younger generation to continue this type of work.”
