Project Award 2025

Feng-Yao Chang will create a multimedia project to illuminate the unseen, unheard lives of marginalized people. Chang will capture both images of natural beauty and often-ignored spaces inhabited by Anchorage’s homeless residents through street photography and recordings of ambient sounds, including street noise, natural elements, and human voices. She plans to present these image-sound pairings in a gallery setting, with accompanying books, QR codes and digital video.

When asked what she would like the public to know, Chang responded, “I am a multimedia artist here in Anchorage serving our community.”
