Gloria Selby

Gloria Selby is an Alutiiq artist born in Kodiak and raised in Afognak Village. She uses oil paint, watercolor, colored pencil and pastel to create her art which depicts life in the Kodiak archipelago with colors and light inspired by the natural environment. Selby completed a 14-foot mural for Karluk Public School and a painting depicting the village of Afognak for the Alutiiq Center in Anchorage. Selby held a notable solo exhibition at the Alutiiq Museum in Kodiak, displaying 14 oil paintings of the people and places of Afognak where she grew up in the 1950s. She currently lives in Kodiak.
