Helen Drewel joined Rasmuson Foundation in Sept. 2025 as the Executive Assistant to Chief Program Officer, supporting the grantmaking group in staying organized, connected and focused on the work ahead.

She brings more than 20 years of experience assisting senior leaders and managing complex projects in both the private and public sectors. Her past roles include positions at Amazon Web Services and Oregon Tech, as well as serving as executive assistant at the Alaska Earthquake Center and supporting field operations for the Bureau of Land Management in Glennallen. These experiences deepened her appreciation for Alaska’s communities and landscapes.

Originally from the East Coast, Helen moved to Alaska in 2008 and quickly developed a strong connection to the state. After several years working in the Lower 48, she and her husband have returned with their three dogs and are excited to be home. She is passionate about creating systems that help teams thrive, turning challenges into opportunities, and celebrating successes both big and small. In her free time, Helen enjoys exploring Alaska, supporting local businesses, and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
