John A. “Jay” Gibbons III joined the Rasmuson Foundation Board in 2015. He has strong ties to Alaska, beginning his career working as a teller and new accounts representative at the National Bank of Alaska during summers while in college. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and an AB in biochemistry from Bowdoin College.

He is the founder and managing partner of Swanson River Capital Management LLC, an investment management firm based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Jay previously worked for leading investment firms such as TCW, Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns. Jay loves spending as much time as possible in Alaska and his ideal day is one spent hiking and fishing in Alaska with his wife, three sons, extended family and friends.
