Jess Haley joined the Foundation in January 2019, bringing more than 17 years of experience in the education and nonprofit sectors. She ensures appropriate governance, board compliance and best practices, and she engages the multi-generational family and community members. 

She came to the Foundation after more than a decade of administrative work in higher education including experience in Tacoma, Chicago and Anchorage. Before joining the Foundation, Jess worked at the University of Alaska Foundation learning about the importance of philanthropy in Alaska. Born and raised in Alaska, she has a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Alaska Pacific University. She received a master’s degree in education from Loyola University Chicago.

She spends time outside of work weight lifting, cycling, traveling, exploring Alaska and learning new things.
