As president and CEO, Julia Jacobson has led Volunteers of America Alaska through many ups and downs: a global pandemic, an executive leadership transition, financial challenges, and a rapidly intensifying youth mental health crisis. The organization provides a full continuum of care for children, young adults, and their families, supporting mental health, peer support, family therapy, and residential treatment. Jacobson’s sabbatical will provide a rare opportunity to reconnect with her two children, one of whom will soon leave for college, through a family trip to Europe.
