Laura Boone joined Rasmuson Foundation in September 2022 as office manager and in April 2023 became staff accountant. She currently serves as the senior accountant.

She was born in Maryland and spent her first 18 years on a small sheep farm. In 2003, she moved to Alaska to attend Alaska Pacific University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in environmental science. For 10 years, she was a staple at Spenard Roadhouse, working as a server, front-of-house manager, and eventually, office manager/bookkeeper. She is determined to be a lifelong student, finishing her master’s degree in library and information science in 2022. In December 2025, Laura obtained an occupational endorsement certificate in Bookkeeping from UAA.

Laura spends her free time with her family: husband, two kids, and two adopted dogs. She is an avid gardener in the spring, a forgetful gardener in the summer, and is always surprised at what can be harvested in the fall. She is also on the Board of Trustees for the Anchorage Library Foundation.
