Laura Boone joined Rasmuson Foundation in September 2022 as office manager and in April 2023 became staff accountant. She currently serves as the senior accountant, finance operations.

She was born in Maryland and lived on a small sheep farm for her first 18 years. In 2003, she moved to Alaska to attend Alaska Pacific University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in environmental science. For 10 years, she was a staple at Spenard Roadhouse working as a server, front-of-house manager and, eventually, office manager. Her duties for part of that time included accounting work. In 2022, Laura finished her master’s degree in library and information science.

Laura spends her free time with her family: husband, two kids and two adopted dogs. She is an avid gardener in the spring, a forgetful gardener in the summer and is always surprised at what can be harvested in the fall. She is grateful and excited for the work to be done at the Foundation.
