Martha Amore will write “End of the Roaders”, her second collection of short stories for publication about a fictional muralist from Belfast, North Ireland who worked for the Irish Republican Army and fled the conflict, emigrating to Alaska in the early 1980s. In these stories, this character is an old man living outside of Anchorage in the mountains at the end of the road. Amore plans travel to Ireland to research IRA murals and history about ‘the Troubles’.
When asked what she would like the public to know, Amore responded, “I teach writing at the University of Alaska Anchorage.”
