St. Clair will finish her first full-length collection of poetry and send it out for publication. She will attend poet-led workshops, residencies and retreats hosted by teachers and poets who will push her to expand her boundaries.

She has also scheduled several mini-retreats away from the distractions of family and daily life so she can deeply engage in her art, write new poems, polish working drafts, then revise and organize her collection of poems.

St. Clair believes poetry is important because in these complicated times, writing is one way to simplify, to untangle the dark and the light, to live through times of grief, loss and absence. Poetry is also a way to find small pleasures and beauty. “I write to understand, and I write to be understood,” she says.
