2025 Project Award

Neech Yanagut Yeil/Laine Rinehart plans to document the gathering, prepping and spinning of jaanwu, or mountain goat fiber, traditionally used by Indigenous weavers of the Pacific Northwest as both warp and weft in Chilkat and Ravenstail textiles. He is dedicated to learning and sharing this knowledge to bring visibility to the process and will complete a Chilkat tunic made from handspun jaanwu yarn.
