Susan Morgan was born and raised in Alaska. A journalist and editor for many years at the Anchorage Daily News and Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, she also worked as communications coordinator for the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services. During that time, she co-created an award-winning television campaign encouraging Alaskans to become foster parents. Morgan has two wonderful children of whom she is immensely proud. She’s been known to answer to the name “Portugal. The Mom.” She lives and writes in Anchorage.
