Foundation Awards $13.5 Million

Anchorage, Alaska – The Rasmuson Foundation Board of Directors announces that $13.5 million has been awarded to Alaska nonprofits in grants and initiatives to improve the quality of life in the state. The largest award announced was for Southcentral Foundation, which will receive $3 million for the start-up of the Nuka Institute.

First Quarter Awards Announced

Anchorage – Rasmuson Foundation announced that in the first quarter of 2013 it made 36 Tier 1 awards for a total of $654,761, and renewed support of the Art Acquisition Fund for $285,000. These grants join six Sabbatical Awards announced in January.

Anchorage – Rasmuson Foundation’s Board of Directors conducted its biannual meeting yesterday and approved $9.6 million in funding for nonprofit projects across Alaska. With these awards, Rasmuson Foundation surpassed $200 million in total grantmaking, which it began in 1955 with a $125 grant to Wasilla Presbyterian Church for a motion picture projector.
