We are an Alaska-focused family philanthropy created in 1955 by Jenny Rasmuson and her son, Elmer. Over three generations, the Rasmusons built up the family-owned bank, then leveraged its sale in 1999 to turn the Foundation into the largest private funder in Alaska.

Composed of Rasmuson family members and community leaders, our board brings experience and expertise from a range of fields and from communities throughout Alaska. In addition to meeting twice a year, they connect monthly over committee work and show up in communities to listen and learn from our partners.
