Hello friends,
As we settle into this holiday season, I wanted to share my warm wishes to all our partners. I hope you are enjoying this time and carving out space to relax and renew as we all prepare for the new year.
It’s our privilege at Rasmuson Foundation to walk beside hundreds of organizations each year, no two of them alike. We connect with Alaskans in every corner of the state and learn about their community’s specific and most pressing needs. In meeting so many of you in 2024, we’ve learned a lot about our neighbors.
In the spirit of the season of giving, I want to share our new Passion to Purpose video series that highlights the work of a few partners who give so much to their communities each and every day. These videos showcase diverse organizations that are walking the walk and making real change, all of them motivated by a profound calling to connect.
I encourage you to take a look. The series features four partners: Anchorage re:MADE, 3rd Ave. Resource and Navigation Center, Alaska Zoo, and the Korean American Community of Anchorage, Inc. Each brings a unique background, offering something essential to their community, fostering connection to culture, providing critical support resources, empowering entrepreneurs, and more.
You can watch the full series below.
Anchorage re:MADE
Anchorage re:MADE is a creative nonprofit that repurposes all types of goods, giving them new life and reducing the waste contributed to landfills. The organization also empowers budding entrepreneurs through education, coaching, and support.
3rd Ave. Resource and Navigation Center
Catholic Social Services operates the 3rd Avenue Resource & Navigation Center as a place for adults experiencing homelessness to access a full range of services. From a shower to a phone change, or case management, housing and job search support, the navigation center meets its clients where they’re at.
Alaska Zoo
The Alaska Zoo is a home for orphaned and injured wildlife, like the featured black bear Prince William. Hear about its mission, and the zoo’s “uniquely Alaska” origin story.
Korean American Community of Anchorage, Inc.
The Korean American Community of Anchorage, Inc. is a nonprofit working to improve the lives of Korean Americans through civic engagement, cultural celebrations, and community gatherings.
Happy holidays,

Gretchen Guess
