Rasmuson Foundation is pleased to announce the promotion of Issa Spatrisano to one of two new director of programs positions. Sara Clark joins the organization as the second programs director.
Issa and Sara will provide leadership and work closely with program officers across the organization to ensure access to funding and strengthen support for Alaskans seeking grants.
“Both Issa and Sara understand how programs succeed in the real world, where timelines are tight, needs are urgent, and relationships matter,” said Rasmuson Foundation Chief Programs Officer Tasha Pineda. “Their leadership will help us deliver support that’s both timely and thoughtful.”

Sara comes to Rasmuson Foundation with executive leadership experience spanning both nonprofit and government sectors, where she built a strong foundation in grant writing, grantmaking, and program management. Her academic career at the University of Alaska, where she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in public health, was driven by a profound dedication to Alaska and its communities.

Issa joined the Foundation in 2025 as a program officer focused on strategic grantmaking. Prior to coming to the Foundation, Issa served as Alaska’s State refugee coordinator, managing more than $20 million in federal grants. She holds a Master of Education in teaching and learning from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Western Michigan University.
Together, they will ensure all grantmaking activities align with the Foundation’s mission, vision, and values.
