About the artist

Bruce Farnworth is an Anchorage-based writer and community organizer who founded and led the MTS Gallery in Anchorage from 2005 through 2011. The gallery hosted a renown program of monthly cutting edge visual art exhibitions and performance art work by artists from the community, around the state and around the world. He also was a founding member of an artist collective called the Light Brigade.

2011 President’s Award

Farnsworth was honored with a special award to recognize his work in neighborhood revitalization through the arts.

In the winter of 2014-15 in the community space now known as the The Nave, the Light Brigade fabricated a large-scale installation of light and sound called “Follow the Light that was installed in Elderberry Park.
