An impressive comprehensive trail network in Southeast Alaska was Deborah Lyons’ primary focus as executive director at Sitka Trail Works. At the time of her sabbatical award, she had served 12 years in that role. She planned to spend time in the outdoors on her sabbatical and was particularly excited to join her husband in fishing for king salmon in August.
