About the artist

Kat Tomka earned a BFA in Metalsmithing with a minor in Fibers, an MA in Art History and an MFA in Drawing and Painting, all from the University of Wisconsin. During her MFA, she completed a study abroad in Assisi, Italy. Her work has been displayed in solo and group exhibitions, and she has received many grants and fellowships. Tomka has served as a lecturer and instructor at various museums and educational institutions across the U.S., and was an assistant professor in drawing and painting at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Tomka will attend a video and film residency at the Center for Contemporary Art in Prague, Czech Republic.
