Organization Description

Sitka Sound Science Center is an educational and research institution specializing in increasing understanding and awareness of the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems of the Gulf of Alaska and the eastern Pacific Ocean.

Lisa Busch had three goals for her time on sabbatical: meditate, spend time with older relatives and row. She did all that and more while living in the South of France during her time away.

She had been with the Sitka Sound Science Center since 2010 and had worked in Alaska nonprofits 34 years. She was ready to recharge.
