Organization Description

The Southeast Region EMS Council provides supplies, resources, training and emergency medical information.

Roberta “Bobbi” Leichty migrated from the Midwest to settle on Prince of Wales Island back in the 1970s and gravitated toward work that saved lives.

She helped establish the Craig EMS program and eventually became an EMT 3 in 1990. 

When Ketchikan Fire offered its first paramedic course, she signed up. Leichty completed her clinical/ride time with Seattle’s Medic One program. She served on the Southeast Region EMS Council board then in 2002 became its first permanent executive director.
