Sheryl Saturnino Oliva

Program Officer

Sheryl Saturnino Oliva (pronunciation: satuɾˈni.no) joined Rasmuson Foundation in October 2024 as a Program Officer.

Sheryl was born and raised in Anchorage and earned her bachelor’s degree from UAA. She has spent the last 10 years in Miami, first as a grad student in the University of Miami’s master’s program in community and social change, followed by a career in philanthropy and nonprofits. Before buying an RV and loading up her fiancée and cat in summer of 2024 for the cross-continental trek back home, she spent more than five years at The Miami Foundation as the community investments manager (program officer) and a grants administrator. At The Miami Foundation — a $450 million community foundation focused on Miami-Dade County with annual grantmaking of more than $70 million — she managed multiple grantmaking portfolios and multi-funder collaboratives. Prior to her work at foundation, she served as the first grants manager of Lotus House, the nation’s largest shelter for women and children experiencing homelessness. In her spare time, she is an avid pickleball competitor — and may have already made a name for herself on the Anchorage courts.
