2023 Project Award

Takahashi, a printmaker, bookmaker and art educator, will explore new printmaking techniques and find new audiences to create connections with through her artmaking processes, storytelling and a love of nature expressed through her art. As part of this exploration, she will attend In Cahoots, a printmaking artist residency in California, to work on new directions in her visual storytelling and printmaking skills.

She plans to produce a new body of work consisting of four-to-six silkscreened storytelling accordion-style books, printed and bound by hand, to show at Bunnell Street Art Center in Homer, Alaska. Takahashi will also travel to Japan to make new gallery connections in her home region of Kansai, which includes the cities of Osaka and Kyoto.
