Anchorage, AK – In the third quarter of 2015, Rasmuson Foundation made 43 Tier 1 awards for a total of $826,634. An alphabetized list of awards is attached. Past awards are also searchable online here.

The Tier 1 program is a cornerstone of Rasmuson Foundation’s grantmaking and provides grants up to $25,000 for capital projects, technology upgrades, capacity building, program expansion, and creative works. Applications are accepted year-round. Examples of Tier 1 grants made July through September include:

Athabascan Fiddlers Association will purchase studio and production equipment for KRFF in Fairbanks.
Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies will update its outdoor learning spaces in Homer.
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska and Washington
will purchase office equipment in Anchorage.
National Parks Conservation Association will make improvements to Caribou Creek Trail in Wrangell.
Raven Radio Foundation will make repairs to its radio tower in Sitka.
Safe and Fear-Free Environment will upgrade the septic system at its domestic violence shelter in Dillingham.
Saint Herman Orthodox Church in King Cove will build a bell tower to preserve historic copper bells.
Southeast Alaska Friends of Montessori will purchase furniture and equipment for the Children’s House in Juneau.
Threshold Services in Kodiak will resurface the floor at its recycling center.
• Togiak Public Library and Cultural Center will purchase materials, equipment and consulting services.
United Way of Matanuska-Susitna Borough will purchase Toyo stoves.
