Anchorage, AK – Rasmuson Foundation announced that in the second quarter of 2015 it made 45 Tier 1 awards for a total of $815,720. An alphabetized list of awards is attached. Past awards are also searchable online here.
The Tier 1 program is a cornerstone of Rasmuson Foundation’s grantmaking and provides grants up to $25,000 for capital projects, technology upgrades, capacity building, program expansion, and creative works. Applications are accepted year-round. Examples of Tier 1 grants made April through June include:
· Chinik Eskimo Community in Golovin will purchase playground equipment.
· Institute of the North in Anchorage will design and print “The State of Alaska’s Arctic.”
· Kachemak Bay Broadcasting in Homer will purchase production studio consoles.
· Sprout Family Services in Homer will upgrade its heating system and provide a hearing screener.
· Tanana Chiefs Conference will purchase supplies for youth program activities in Tanana.
· Valley Residential Services will make technology upgrades in Wasilla.
· Qutekcak Native Tribe will purchase furniture and equipment for a child development center in Seward.
· Juneau Arts and Humanities Council will stage a production of “Yuuyaraq: The Way of the Human Being.”
· Disability Law Center of Alaska will purchase computers and a server.
· Anchorage Youth Court will purchase office equipment for defendant meeting space.
· Inupiat Community of the Arctic Slope will purchase a wheelchair-accessible van for the vocational rehabilitation program in Barrow.
