Darlene Lind

Darlene Lind is an Aleut sculptor, carver and beader. She is also known for creating contemporary ivory jewelry and Alutiiq headdresses that draw on her strong cultural traditions. By studying clothing, facial adornments and tattoos documented by explorers of the 18th and 19th centuries, she is able to create pieces that express her connection to her ancestors. Lind has exhibited her work at museums, art exhibits and cultural centers throughout Alaska. She lives in Homer, Alaska with her husband Peter who is also an artist.
