Fred Trout
Tlingit carver Fred Trout began carving in high school and continued his education at the Totem Heritage Center. In 1997, he earned his Certificate of Merit in Carving from the Center. In addition to teaching at the center, he carves interior house screens in Sitka and his work is on the Saxman Totem Park’s Frog Wall. Fred apprenticed with Master Tlingit carver Nathan Jackson. He currently lives, works and teaches in Ketchikan, Alaska.
