Ken DeRoux

Ken DeRoux grew up in Juneau, Alaska. After high school, he moved to California to attend the University of California Berkeley, where he experienced and photographed the war protests, demonstrations and sit-ins that characterized the 1960s. He earned his BFA in Photography from San Francisco Institute of Art. DeRoux went on to work at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He returned to Juneau, and currently works as a curator at the Alaska State Museum. DeRoux also draws, but is probably best known as a painter of expressive and colorful landscapes.
