Michael Nakoneczny was born in Michigan and currently resides in Evanston, Illinois and Fairbanks, Alaska. He earned his BFA from Cleveland State University and an MFA from the University of Cincinnati. He has received numerous awards including an Illinois Art Council Fellowship and an Arts Midwest/NEA Regional Fellowship. He currently teaches Painting as an associate professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Nakoneczny is represented by Zolla/Lieberman Gallery, Inc. in Chicago, IL and Grover Thurston Gallery in Seattle, WA.
